🍲 5-Min Recipes: Because You Deserve a Break Too
Hey Shaktis,
Let’s be real — some days, even making a cup of tea feels like a task. Between work, family, maid drama, and 100 WhatsApp messages, who has time to cook fancy meals?

That’s why I’m starting this little corner called 5-Min Recipes.
Simple, healthy, delicious ideas that you can whip up in literally under 5 minutes. No stress, no mess.

And guess what? These are real-life tested recipes — not made for Instagram, but made for women like you and me who just want to eat well without losing our minds.

🥣 1. Aval Dosa – My No-Ferment Saver

When I forget to soak the batter (which is… often), I grab:

  • A bit of soaked aval (beaten rice)
  • Mix with DOOfy dosa batter
  • Throw in some chopped onion or curry leaves
  • And in 5 mins, dosa’s on the plate. No one knows it was a panic move 😅

🍌 2. Banana-Peanut Butter Toast – My “Don’t Talk to Me Yet” Breakfast

I swear by this one:

  • Toast bread
  • Spread peanut butter
  • Slice banana on top
  • Drizzle honey if I feel fancy

Fills me up. Zero mess. Pairs well with coffee and silence.

🥥 3. Coconut Milk Smoothie – My Sip & Run Trick

When I’m too lazy to chew (yes, that’s real), I blend:

  • Banana or apple
  • DOOfy coconut milk
  • Soaked almonds or cashews
  • Dash of cardamom or honey

Done. Sip it while yelling, “Where is your school ID card?!” 😂

🧄 4. Curd Rice Balls – Amma’s Hack, Upgraded

If there’s leftover rice:

  • Mix it with curd and salt
  • Roll into soft balls
  • (Optional: temper with mustard + curry leaves)

Tastes like home. Feels like a hug. Especially after a long, loud morning.

🫓 5. Leftover Chapati Roll – My Silent Superpower

Chapati from last night?
Wrap it with:

  • Leftover potato curry
  • Or some chutney + sliced cucumber
Roll it, toast it, done. And no one in the house suspects it was last night’s rescue mission. 🙈

🌿 6. Lemon Aval (Elumichai Aval) – My Quickie Detox Breakfast

Why I love it: Light, filling, and perfect for digestion. I often make this after a heavy Sunday dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup DOOfy cleaned and soaked thin poha (aval)
  • 1 green chilli (chopped)
  • Curry leaves, mustard
  • Salt, turmeric
  • Lemon juice

What to do:

  1. Soak poha for 2 mins and drain.
  2. Temper mustard, green chilli, curry leaves, turmeric in 1 tsp oil.
  3. Toss in poha + salt. Squeeze fresh lemon.

🛒 DOOfy aval comes pre-cleaned, so no rinsing or guesswork.

🥜 7. Peanut Coconut Chutney – My Zero-Cook Saviour

Why I do this: When I run out of regular chutney and don’t want to turn on the gas!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp DOOfy grated coconut
  • 1 garlic pod
  • Salt, tamarind, green chilli

What to do:

  1. Blend all ingredients with little water.
  2. If time allows, give it a small mustard tempering.
  3. Serve with dosa or hot rice.

🛒 DOOfy grated coconut is 100% preservative-free and saves me SO much effort.

💛 Final Thought:

You don’t need to cook like a chef to feed like a queen.
You just need the right shortcuts, smart prep — and someone to tell you “You’re doing great.”

That’s why I started DOOfy. And that’s why I’m writing these blogs.
So you can eat, breathe, and live a little lighter — without losing your mind in the kitchen.

Love,
Saranya
